For your enjoyment and safety

Rideout Safety notice

• Riders and spectators must follow the instructions of mounted (wearing hi-vis armbands) and foot (wearing hi-vis vests) marshalls.

• Any cars are parked at the owner’s risk.  Please respect any “No Parking” instructions.

• Riders must wear smart and suitable riding wear, including hard hats to the appropriate UK safety standards.

• It is the responsibility of those taking part to ensure that horses and riders are fully insured. The organisers will not be held responsible for any damage or injury caused by horses or riders.

• Young or inexperienced riders must be accompanied by a responsible and capable adult.

• Discipline and courtesy should be shown by all riders to marshalls, other riders and members of the public, especially at gates and crossings.

• It is the responsibility of all riders taking part to maintain good control of their mount throughout the ride. If a rider becomes dismounted at any time, it is their responsibility to either remount and re-join the ride or return their horse to the horsebox.  While it is the role of the foot or mounted marshals to advise and direct riders, it is not their duty to control loose horses.

• All riders are required to adhere to the agreed route, which has been negotiated with farmers, landowners and police.  Riders must be able to keep up with the pace, or they may be asked to leave the ride.  If there is an issue, a marshall should be informed.

• Any rider behaving inappropriately may be asked to leave the ride.

• There is a vet on call during the ride, contactable via the marshalls.  Riders / horse owners are responsible for any fees incurred.

• Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

• Please take any litter home or dispose of it in an appropriate bin.
